tourism locations. That said, it is one of the very few apps that has
really sucked me in with lots of OOHS and AAHS since I got my iPhone
last week. The first OOH came with the startup screen, which is darn pretty! Lots
of color, vision, very engaging.
Colors continued as I got into the program, and I loved that they have a Charity of the Month.
Now you know already what a sucker I am for panoramics, having blogged about: Sistine
and
Tiffany
and
other PhotoJPL wonders. So the app opened, I blinked a couple times at the directions, then
followed them, carefully holding the iPhone at eye level, and spinning
slowly around inside the dentist's office. OOOoooohhhhh. Skier headed
down the slope.
Spin around, see the valley. Spin more, Oh! Behind me are mountains! Covered with pines!
Wow. I stand still for a while and watch the snow on the mountains, then realize that is not sleet I am hearing hit the snow, it is rain
on the windows. Nice. Very nice. Now I have to experiment and explore. I can spin up and see the
clouds. I can spin down and see footprints in the snow by where my
feet should be. I really wish I could zoom in, but I can't. I can
twist some angles and see the ski track under the skier! Ah! Finally, I decide I better move along to the next view, and find a
lovely little screen of info about the place I'm looking at, what they
do, why they do it, their website, and how to get more information.
I assume this is monetized by people paying to have their panoramic included, but wow, would I love to see one of these of the University
of Michigan campus done from the pinnacle of the Belltower. Now how
much would that cost?
